Famous Cricketers' Names Used In Scam

A MAN accused of using cricket aliases to scam $110,000 from American Express and Citibank was allegedly part of an identity fraud web targeted by elite investigators. Pakistani-born Amir Shahzad was arrested by specialist strike team police and charged with 10 counts of obtaining a financial benefit by deception last Thursday.

Teen Faces 19 Counts

A TEENAGER alleged to have defrauded a Cooks Hill dealership of an $80,000 Audi appeared in Newcastle Local Court yesterday charged with a further 19 offences.

All 12 accused are charged with having intentionally been members of a terrorist organisation that was involved in the fostering, or preparation of, a terrorist act involving weapons or explosives in the pursuit of violent jihad, with the intention of coercing or intimidating the Government or the public. Ten of the men also face other charges. All have pleaded not guilty.
